The latest survey is up: “Deathly Hallows could be a two-part movie…”
Of course, Warner Brothers hasn’t confirmed or denied this rumor yet. It would be cool though.
The results of the previous poll are:

Film review site Rotten Tomatoes has posted their 9th annual Golden Tomato Awards, their list of “the best-reviewed movies of the year” (2007). Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is listed as the winner for the Sci-Fi and Fantasy category.
Note that this is currently a rumor, and had not been verified by Warner Brothers, or any other authority.
There has been talk of Deathly Hallows being a two-part movie, because of the book’s length, and the impossibility of fitting everything into a three-hour movie. There would also be financial benefits to the approach… about 500 million pounds in ticket sales.
Also, the movie could be directed by Steven Spielberg, who had considered directing the first of the ‘Potter films.
Thanks to TLC.
Earlier this evening, the UK television station ITV aired their documentary of J.K. Rowling, which the author of the Harry Potter series has spoken highly of in her recent interview with PotterCast. Now that the documentary has aired, it is available online for everyone to see. According to the description next to the video, JKR reveals what she plans on writing next.
Editor’s note: I will have to watch this video soon. Luckily my next Netflix rental will not arrive for a few more days. ![]()
Could there be another Harry Potter book? There’s a chance, however slim. We already know that J.K. Rowling has eventual plans to release a Harry Potter encyclopedia (known jokingly as “The Scottish Book” by JKR), but what about another novel.
According to CW Arkansas, JKR has said she might one day, though Harry would not be the primary character. Note that the author is not confirming that there will be another book set at Hogwarts, though the possibility is still open.
There was a problem with the news feed, which rendered it inaccessible. For how long, we are not sure. It’s working again now, and hopefully there won’t be any further problems with it.
Warner Brothers and Archos are partnering to release a Portable Media Player (PMP) that will come pre-loaded with the first four Harry Potter films (the fifth will be available for download). The device, an Archos 605 WiFi, will contain twenty gigabytes of hard disk space, and will cost 189.99 pounds (GBP). The device will be available in select Blockbuster video rental stores in the UK. No word has been given on whether or not the device will be available in North America.

The two biggest Harry Potter podcasts, PotterCast and MuggleCast, have both received the honor of being in the iTunes Best Podcasts of 2007 list. To view the list, open your copy of the iTunes software, and visit the Podcasts directory.
In related news, the PotterCast listing in the iTunes podcast database has been vandalized by Mugglenet users. There are large quantities of negative reviews (with ratings of 1-2 stars) containing nothing but “Mugglecast is better!” or “if you want to listen to a much better harry potter [sic] podcast, listen to Mugglecast.” These pointless comments are immature, and they ruin the iTunes podcast directory for the rest of us. MuggleCast, please tell your listeners to cut it out.
J.K. Rowling will appear on PotterCast on December 18, 2007. It will be the first ever podcast interview with JKR.
JKR’s Tales of Beedle the Bard has sold at auction for two million pounds ($3.98 million). The buyer? Amazon.com. They will be taking the book on tour to various libraries and schools so people can see portions of it.
For those who don’t already know, the book is one of seven in existence, hand-lettered and illuminated by J.K. Rowling. The remaining six have been given to “people instrumental to Harry since his inception.” The proceeds of the publicly sold copy will go to charity.
