The Things That Should Have Been in Book 6 (a.k.a. JKR’s “Lies”)

Did you realize that JKR said she’d put a bunch of things in the sixth book, but didn’t?

In this article, I will list some of them, along with reasons I think they wren’t included, and whether or not I think they will be in book 7.

Lets get started.

  • Snapes Bogart and Patronus will be important to the future of the series. They will be revealed in books six and seven. Were either of them revealed in book six? I don’t think so. I believe that they would have given away too much. As you probably know, I don’t think Dumbledore is really dead (See [the character] is alive). I think Snape’s Bogart is Voldy, and his patronus is Dumbledore. I know that up to this point patronuses (or patroni?) have all been animals, but I still think it’s possible.
  • The reason for killing off Sirius will be revealed in books six and seven. JKR might have partially answered this, but not out in the open. The Horcruxes! Sirius wouldn’t have let Harry go out looking for them. I doubt he would’ve let Harry go after Voldemort either. I’m not sure if Dumbledore would let him either. Could that mean Dumbledore’s really dead?
  • You will find out what Dudly saw when the Dementor’s attacked in book 5. This was definitely not in book 6. My guess is there wasn’t any room in the book (How can there not be enough room in a Harry Potter book?). Hopefully it will be in book seven.
  • Someone will learn magic unusually late in life. Oh really? I don’t think so. Maybe in book seven. I wonder who could be learning magic? Harry’s aunt? Hagrid? There’s no way to tell! I’m guessing it’s not Hagrid, because he already knows some magic.

That’s all I can think of right now, but I’ll add more in the future (when I have time…).
